About Resurrection Bush Organic Essential Oil (Myrothamnus flabellifolia), ‘Myron’, meaning ‘perfume’ or ‘aromatic’ and ‘thamnus’ meaning ‘bush’, this medicinal herbal plant is unique. It is popularly used as a decoction and or infusion as a local herbal tea by some indigenous communities including the Mokgola community in North West Province of South Africa, Southern Africa and Central Africa.
It is used by local communities to treat chest pains, epilepsy, mental disorders, as a tonic and to moisturize the skin, mainlyt through powdered leaves mixed with fat.
Other local form of usage is through smoke inhalation from burning leaves. The smoke has a rich aromatic perfume.
